Richard Rodriguez discusses the 40th anniversary edition of his classic book, Hunger of Memory: The Education of Richard Rodriguez, with Paul Elie. The Washington Post has written of Rodriguez that he is “an interesting, unpredictable thinker and writer; the opportunity to enter his mind should be reason enough to read one of his books.”

Paul Elie is a senior fellow with Georgetown University’s Berkeley Center for Religion, Peace, and World Affairs and the director of the American Pilgrimage Project.
