Ed Nofziger
Ed Nofziger was born in Porterville, California, where his aptitude for drawing was obvious from a young age. While most of us grow out of drawing talking animals, Nofzinger moved to New York so that he could make a career out of it. His cartoons appeared in The Saturday Evening Post, New Yorker, Saturday Review, and Parade, among others. After World War II, he moved into animation, drawing the "Mister Magoo" cartoon for UPA studios and the "Ruff and Ready" series for Hanna-Barbera. In the 1960s, he developed his own comic strip, the bilingual "Buenos Dias." Fellow cartoonist Roger Armstrong called him one of "the finest cartoonists of animals in the last half-century."
